Dang where have I been? Well I cannot lie as Formulaic will totally rat me out, I've been lazy and preoccupied with things at work. Yes, really, work has been crazy.
Long Story short: a major hotel/casino stopped building b/c lack of $$ so that put about 2000+ out of work over night and the company I work for had a lot of material to supply to that job so that in turn knocked a few people off there feet in the company and they let some go. So far I am still working for them but I hear I am on the "Block" so time will tell.
In other news .. wait.. what other news, JT doesn't have any. It's just been work, relax and watch movies. Disney 1/2, yes I know.. it's coming.. I will probably crawling to the end but it's about having fun that's all.
Oh wait there is new News.. IRONMAN COZUMEL !!! This looks like a sweet thing to do and I know I was looking to head down to IMAZ 2009 but I think that just got bumped!

WAIT. Really????? Maybe we'll have to vacation down there. And by vacation I mean have fruity drinks and support you by spectating.
WOW! Sounds like a fun time can be had by all!
hmmmm, i just might have to think about that one.
Hey JT you should take a look at the Outlaws message board. We had a guy do the Cozumel 70.3 and it soulds like the course was really bad.
CoachLiz has done Cozumel 70.3 and said it was ok. I will check your board and ask her again.
Coachliz.. jump in here..

It was Cancun 70.3 (no Cozumel 70.3 race)that I did last year. The Swim was spectacular with a long run on the beach to the transition area. The bike course was flat and once out of town the roads were just like the chip seal we have in Grimes County in Texas. There was a dried lumpy patch of cement that I hit that was a theeth rattler but there were not pot holes that I remember. There were lots of people on the side of the road with flats but if you are running race tires instead of Conti R4000 or Ultra Gatorskins you can expect that. I had "no problemos". The run was a nice 2 loop out and back. This was a very well supported race and the same race production company that put on Cancun 70.3 is putting on the IM Cozumel race.
Now for the BAD stuff that Baboo is talking about. This was a draft crazy course. I am not going to blame the race production company but rather the athletes. There were race officials on the course, but when 60% of the athletes are drafting in packs as large at 30 riders you cannot take down everyone's number. The torrential downpours on the bike did not help but I am sure rather helped those draft packs get away with what they were doing. There was a pro racer who abandoned the race rather early on the bike because of the drafting issue and a good friend of mine said he was always trying to get away from the "klingons" hanging on his back wheel but they would suck him back into the group after time.
Registration is open and payday is today for me. I may just be signing up.
