weeks out.

Where does the time go these days when your not worried about training for an event. I remember when training for CdA every day was planned with training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, etc. These days it seems you work, eat, sleep, and watch movies and the week is gone! Don't get me wrong I have been getting in a few workouts this week and looking forward to having Mr/Mrs. Formulaic come on down for some good entertainment but the time just goes.

The weekend have been just as busy and seem to go by even faster. Last weekend I went to Disneyland/California Adventure on Saturday, my first time ever! It was a blast! Walked all round all day and paid way too much for water and fruit but hey, It's the Happiest Place On Earth, right? Yea, until you look in your wallet and realize all your money is gone! HA! It was a great time and was super tired after 14 hours, I think it was worse than doing an Ironman. Then to top it off the next day I went to this Swap Meet early Sunday morning and were again walking around for another 4 1/2 hours! and I still had to run later that day. Crap, my legs were shot.

By the time the run came my legs just did not want to move forward and quite frankly I don't blame them. I got the time in but it wasn't pretty and I slept like a baby!

Have a great weekend......

Yes.. thats right.

If you happen to scroll down to the Grid Iron you will something that has not taken place on JT's blog for quite some time. Yup, that's right. Training! A few things have sparked the start of this new onset of training but mostly just because it's time to get off my ass and drop some weight for next year.

One of the other reasons I have started back is because on Feb 1st (Superbowl Sunday 2009) the Surf City Marathon is taking place and JT wants to be a part of it. Of course this is always a good reason, check out the finishers medal

So the deal is there is 16 weeks to get on the program and gear up for this little run. I am looking forward to it and also just to getting back out there and running.

Today while I was out there running I came up with a few things.

How do you know when you've been off of training too long:

1) Your heart rate monitor chest strap is uncomfortable and bothers you.

2) You don't remember which way out and back is on your route.

3) Your forget to press Start on your Garmin.

4) Chaffing brings on a new meaning!

5) Your Ipod play list is the beginning of the years Top 40 list.

Feel free to add any as you see fit. I thought it was funny that my HR strap was actually bothering me and my ipod had all this out date music. I am updating the ipod as I write this to get things back on track for a while.

It's good to have a plan and take the Risk..!!!

Nine days into October and I am barley posting. Where does the time go? Next thing you know it will be Cozumel time and I will be wondering how the day will turn out.

Life in the mean time doesn't slow down or stand still, esp. in a city like LA. Life on my end is always changing and lately just doesn't seem to want to fit in a comfortable pattern which leads me to hit and miss workouts and crappy eating. This week I have taken a stand against the crappy eating and cutting back on the drinking. It has to start somewhere and that's the best place to do it.

With changes means uncomfortable and uncertainty. Job, and training all play a part in this little circle and the worst thing about this is trying not to stress over things you don't have control over. You can feel useless and used or you can do your best and take a stand, either way the outcome is uncertain but life is made every day with risks and without those where do we go.

Lately, I have taken a lot of risk and not sure if it's been the best decisions but only time will tell and either way, good or bad, happy or sad, if I would have never taken the risk, I would be wondering what if...
