Tic Tok..

As you can see by the count down on the right to IMCZ, today is 368 days but in JT reality it's 365 days from today that packing and leaving begins, most likely tomorrow (364 days) puts the real spin on the Ironman once again.

After seeing the IMAZ peeps rock it out, it only brings back memories that are still fresh on when I was 365 days out from CdA and the truth is it will go by so fast and be here before you and I both know it.

So instead of "its all down hill from here" my reality is "it's all UP HILL from here" for the next few months!

the time.

well it's not like I am in the swing of things but mostly just the swing of things. I go a couple days with getting some training done then I'm off doing something else or procrastinating. No one's fault but my own knowing that my mojo maybe didn't make it through the California State fruits, animals, plants and mojo training check point. (ha) Although I have seem to put on a couple of extra lbs, it makes me mad and uncomfortable and only reminds me of what I need to do to get it off. For the most part, I can't complain and if I do, only point the finger at myself, no worries.

So with a great IMAZ this past weekend is everyone ready for some good eating and relaxation? Oh, wait, I have been totally doing that already! Well for the rest of you, it's time for you to enjoy the winter season and the end of your tri season and maybe get ready for marathoning or something.

Hang in there ...

You have to work for things.

With the week ending or Friday at least, I have been able to get a few things.

First, I ran 2x this week! What? JT running or training for a marathon. My first run was on Tuesday and it was 4.5 miles, it felt good although I am super slow these days but I got it done.

On Wednesday, I was busy at work and just wanted to get out and run again so I grabbed my fuel belt and headed to the beach path and started running. Next thing I knew I was at 3 miles out, oh Crap! that meant 3 miles back, wait a minute, that's freakn' 6 miles today! Well no sense crying about it at mile 3 b/c the only way back to the car is to walk or run. By mile 5 I was tired and probably not really covered from the 4.5 I did the day before. I was actually thinking I really should not have come that far but you know what it was really good that I did. It brought back memories and reminded me of how you have to work for things out here. How you have to be mentally tough and want it! How you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. And this is exactly where I was, uncomfortable. I dug into that mental place in my mind and told myself it was ok, to just keep running even though my quads were sore and hurting from being out of shape. The sooner you get back to the car the sooner you get to rest so I kept running. It was a great run and I am glad I got it done.

Yesterday, I got home and mounted up the bike and off I went. I wanted to ride on the bike beach path farther than I had run on it to really see where it went. Luckily, there was another rider in front of me and I followed them for about 8 miles and then they peeled off. I finally got to a point where I was on this board walk and you had to walk your bike so I turned around and headed back which was about time as it was getting dark. On the way back I caught the Sun going down into the ocean and let me tell you, that is really something to see. I wondered why so many people pull up along the road and sit on the beach to watch the sun set and unless you are there in person, pictures just don't do it justice. It's amazing to see! After it was just about down I headed back and ended up with a 20 mile ride. It felt good to be out there once again.

Today, my quads are still sore and my neck is sore but all is good and I am feeling good that I have not let the week slip away.

Have a great weekend!!!

Never Settled In.

is the way things always work, right? You can never just settle in and everything falls in place, like clockwork. There's gotta be something that get's in the way and that is what has happened over this past week.

Really, I think it's just a matter of not setting specific details to get the job done and having a relaxed type of attitude which leads to detours, procrastination and change of plans. Training was doing pretty good for about a week and then this past week it was hit and miss but mostly seem to miss. Following right behind that was nutrition plan, oh wait, is it a plan if you are trying to eat good foods but just randomly pick and choose when to eat them or eat them only because they are about to spoil. Either way I don't think it's the best of plans.

This week I have put my foot down on JT and it will become the choice of foods and training and find that discipline that drives us when the count down is live and ticking on that upcoming race event! Oh wait, it is counting down on the right side over there!!!!
